Skiing and Snowboarding at Snowshoe During Exams

OVERVIEW

Snowshoe, WV is one of the best ski resorts in the east. The mountain offers 57 slopes in 4 different ‘territories.’ When you leave and when you get back depends on your driver; we have a house rented for Friday and Saturday night, so you can drive out whenever you want, ski whenever you want, and come back whenever you want (we will check out of the cabin at 10:00 Sunday morning, so plan accordingly). I will try to coordinate carpooling so you can get out to play at a time that’s good for you, in case you have exams that run late on Friday or Saturday.

I think the house will hold 20 without a problem. If some people come only for one night, we may be able to hold more. So sign up, and I’ll look at the situation and let you off the waitlist if there’ll be room for you.

Outdoors at UVA Provides:
A warm place to stay. The house has multiple bedrooms, cable tv, heat, and possibly a fireplace. There’s only room in beds for so many people, so many of us will sleep in a sleeping bag (provided) on the floor or on a couch. The club will also provide Saturday breakfast and dinner, and Sunday breakfast. Finally, as long as 20 people sign up, we will be able to get a group discount on lift tickets (the club doesn’t pay for the lift tickets). I don’t yet know how much the tickets will be, since I don’t know if we’ll get the group discount. Bring your checkbook and plan on paying full price! But hopefully we won’t have to.

You must bring:
WARM SKI CLOTHES! Skis if you have them. If you don’t, bring money to rent some. Bring a sleeping bag/pad if you have them, otherwise, the club will provide. You should bring food for your Friday dinner. Bring anything else that you may want, since there are no stores within a few miles. Finally, bring your checkbook or cash to pay for lift tickets (credit card not accepted). If you are a student, BRING YOUR STUDENT ID since you can’t get the student discount without it.

Other notes:
No underage drinking, please. If you’re over 21, feel free (but bring your booze, cuz it’s expensive out there).
