Slobs on McAfee Knob

OVERVIEW

Hey everyone,

Please take a moment to appreciate our very very creative and mature trip name !! Claire and I want to take a jaunt up the infamous McAfee Knob, that classic rocky overhang where every outdoorsy type has taken a photo. Except me!! How can I (or you if you haven’t hiked this) ever be an outdoors-enjoying, dirt-embracing crunchy granola earth steward if we haven’t experienced this hike?? Don’t fret! Claire and I are solving this issue on Friday the 22nd.

This hike does involve a challenging uphill climb and is almost 8 miles, so I listed the trip as intermediate. However, people new to hiking are totally welcome! You know your body and abilities best!

Plan:
-8am: meet at echols
-10am: arrive at trailhead
-10-2ish: hike up, enjoy the views, eat a lil lunch, hike down
-4ish: return to echols

Bring:
-Water
-Backpack to carry snacks/lunch
-snacks/lunch
