Snowshoe Opening Weekend Day Trip – Saturday Dec 11

OVERVIEW

Can’t make it for a full weekend, or the Sunday day trip? Think that this cold weather kind of sucks when there is no white stuff to play in? Want to start off with a day trip to get your legs under you this season? All of those are great reasons to go to Snowshoe on Saturday!

If that’s not enough, Snowshoe opened this morning after seeing 27″ of natural snow in the last week. More is expected tonight and temperatures are supposed to stay below freezing until Saturday (which means plenty of snow making). Crowds should be small, roads should be clear, and temperatures should be tolerable.

We will leave early Saturday morning so we can have time to drive up, get everyone their passes, and hopefully still get on the slopes around opening time. The trip departs from BONNYCASTLE promptly at 6:30 am! Don’t be late or you may get left behind. Also, drivers FILL UP your gas tanks BEFORE arriving that morning so we can hit the road on time.

If you have your own gear and signed up for a season pass this trip will be free. If you don’t have a pass and/or gear you are of course still welcome, but are responsible for purchasing lift tickets and rental gear. Lift tickets are around ~60 this time of year and gear is ~30. What the club will cover:
Gas money + 30% for drivers
Free ride for others

You provide:
Gear or rentals
Season pass or day lift ticket
WARM CLOTHES – layer up! Base layers, jacket, water resistant pants, gloves, hat, goggles, etc
Bag lunch or food money
Positive attitude
Extra $ for dinner if people want to grab something on the way home or when we get back to Cville
