OVERVIEW

**Updates: I have reserved a cabin (a 10-person cabin) so we have plenty of room. There’s room for more, and would especially like to have someone with a car join _just_ for the weekend! Cost for the weekend only will be $25.

Hello fellow skiers and snowboarders, another weekend means another chance to hit the slopes. Not only that, but the Monday there is a public race! This is a great opportunity for you to test your abilities, have some fun, and maybe even win a prize. As I understand, prizes will be given by age group and ability level (also, skiers and snowboarders are in their own categories.) However, by no means is the race necessary, and should you decide to stay Monday, you can just as well free-ski.

I’ve reserved a 10-person cabin in Cass. The total lodging cost should come out close to $40 for all three nights (depending on how many people sign up). Now, my plan is to leave Charlottesville around 6, and coming back Monday afternoon. A few other people have expressed interest in staying for Monday, while others (a slight majority) have expressed interest in the weekend only.

I’ll give preference to those staying all three nights, but expect half of the trip may be comprised on people leaving Sunday night. Between that and making sure there are enough cars, I’ll waitlist everyone to start.

The club pays for gas (+30% for drivers) and covers some of the food/lodging cost

If you have a snowshoe pass and your own gear, the total cost to you will be $40 for lodging and $30 should you choose to race. Otherwise snowshoe day tickets and rental will be an additional cost for you. Tickets are $79 / day (or $55 on Monday if you are racing). I have not kept up with rental prices.

As part of the Cass tradition, drivers will get preference in beds, and it would be good if a few people brought sleeping bags or some form of bedding on which they can sleep.
