OVERVIEW

Not a skier / boarder, OR don’t got the funds for a Saturday lift ticket, but want to come have a BLAST (don’t miss out, yo!) on the Winter Weekend Extravaganza (WWE) anyway? Well, you can just come for the parties and crash or study during the day, OR come have some very fun beautiful-winter-wonderland exercise as we snowshoe through peaceful snowy forests to nice views. No lift ticket needed! I’ll be skiing on Friday (cheaper) and snowshoeing on Saturday (free!). The WWE is one adventure you do not want to miss; many stories undoubtedly will reverberate for months.

The plan for this part of the adventure:
1) Join the Winter Weekend Extravaganza (WWE) adventure by 1/19 (and join this adventure, too).
2) Go borrow a pair of club snowshoes and poles during a gear room time.
3) Party the Friday night of WWE.
4) Sleep in Saturday morning, then go out snowshoeing for a handful of hours. (Timing posted on this adventure is approximate; we’ll all see what we feel like.)
5) Back in time for dinner and Saturday night party of WWE.

yeah! This is going to be one hell of a shreddilicious weekend.

For this Snowshoeing part of WWE, EVERYONE STARTS OUT ON THE WAIT LIST. Once you are a confirmed (i.e. paid) participant on the weekend adventure Zakey posted, you will get in to this adventure.

No experience necessary. Snowshoeing is easy, fun, and beautiful. Where we’ll go will depend on how much natural snow is where. Pack and dress like you would for a hike, with hiking boots (preferably waterproof), water, snacks, sunscreen, sunglasses, many layers of clothing, backpack, etc. Gaiters are nice to have, if you have them.

This trip’s leader is a Wilderness EMT and Geo Medic, is the instructor of the Wilderness First Aid & CPR courses posted in the club, and will be happy to help anyone in need while snowshoeing.
