Spooky Halloween Hike @ The Priest (w/ Bodo’s)

OVERVIEW

What better way to spend Halloween than enjoying the beautiful autumn colors of the Appalachians! Note that The Priest is not a beginner hike; it’s an 8.6 mile trek with 3,100 feet of elevation gain so please only sign up if you’re prepared for the challenge! We’ll be back at UVA around mid to late afternoon so no need to worry about missing out on evening Halloween festivities.

I do not have a car so please sign up to drive if you can! Drivers will be reimbursed for gas with a 50% tip and will receive priority off the waitlist.

Things to bring:
-Sturdy hiking shoes
-Plenty of water! (at least two full bottles)
-A packed lunch/snacks
-Layers
-Money for Bodo’s (if you want)

Approximate Schedule:
7:45 AM Depart from the corner of Echols Dorm
8:00 AM Breakfast at Bodo’s
9:15 AM Arrive at The Priest Wilderness Parking
12:15 PM Summit the mountain and stop for lunch
3:15 PM Back to the car
4:15 PM Return to Echols
