Sport Climbing at Reeds Creek

OVERVIEW

Everyone’s been talking about Reeds Creek and I’ve never been, so let’s go check it out. According to Mountain Project, Reeds Creek has a lot of highly rated climbs ranging from 5.7 to 5.11, so there should be something here for everyone. It looks like there are some nice long (80+ ft) routes if that’s the kind of thing you’re into.

The plan is to leave Charlottesville around 7am (sorry for the early start, but you can sleep in the car while I make weird noises to myself if needed). We’ll get to the crag around 9am, then climb until sundown or fatigue, whatever comes first. That puts us back in C’ville no later than 8pm.

You bring:
– clothes appropriate for the weather
– your climbing gear (harness, shoes, helmet, belay device + locking biner, chalk, PAS, etc.)
– lunch/snack
– water
– prime music for the car ride
– good vibes

I’ll bring group climbing gear including: a double rack of quickdraws, dynamic ropes, anchor materials, etc. I will also have a few spare harnesses and helmets for anyone who needs one.
