OVERVIEW

Hiiiiiiiiiiiii everyone!!

To those of you who don’t know me, my name is Anna and I’ve spent my last 2 summers working on fly fishing lodges in Colorado and Alaska! I love to fish, albeit having only started 3-4 years ago now. I am by no means an expert, however… a couple seasons on the river and a couple pleas from friends has pushed me to lead this trip now! Spring fishing is upon us, and I’ve been hungry to get out there and fish Seneca Rocks (more specifically, Seneca Creek at it’s base) for awhile now.

This will be a ~beginner~ trip because I’m so happy to take along some old and new friends who’ve never held a rod before, but I’m capping it at those 4 people not including me, because truly I think that 5 people fishing together is already a lot, and if you’ve ever been around people who’ve never fly fished learning how to sling a sharp hook through the air, you’d agree!!! I have my car and I’ll be driving, but even if other drivers want to volunteer, we’re still capping this at 4 others for that reason. I’m just a girl.

This trip will include 1-3 miles of hiking into Seneca, to get away from the pressured waters! We will leave early (think 5-6 am), because it is a 2.5 hour drive. The fee comes from the $3 one-day WV fishing permit you’ll be responsible for purchasing before the trip! I also will say, I reserve the right to cancel this trip closer to the date if needed, because fishing is fun, but fish and ecological preservation is fun-ner. If the water levels are low come mid-April, and WV is deemed unfishable (we don’t want to stress the babies out), we will have to cancel. BUT! Thank the gods, because we can cross that bridge when we get to it.

That all being said, so excited to get out there and catch some fishies (namely rainbow, brook, and brown trout! Never been a bass girl myself, unless it involves a backcountry lake and a Busch Banquet).

See y’all soon! And despite the rumors, a rainbow trout stick and poke tattoo on your ankle is NOT a pre-req to join. But hey. They are fun.

Packing list:
– pants/shorts that can get wet (it’ll be high 60’s and we will be wading)
– shoes that can get wet (think chacos!)
– snackies and lunch for the road
– a good playlist

No fly fishing gear is required! I’ll grab and setup some rods from the shrack for those who need them, and NO experience needed either! So happy to teach anyone about anything and everything! I’ll grab flies based on the hatch as reports get sent out closer to the date.

Feel free to text me at 608-504-7088 with any questions at all!

xoxo Anna
