Springing on a Climbing Rope at the Red for Spring Break

OVERVIEW

Hey gamers!

We’re going to the red, AGAIN. This time will be even better, I swear. We’re planning to climb routes mostly 5.11a and up, but if that sounds a little crazy, come talk to me and we can discuss. I’m hoping this trip will be pretty experienced folks, so priority to people who’ve climbed outside before. We plan to camp at miguels and split a room there so we can stay out of the elements and have a little trap house to hang out in. Food will be done on an individual basis, but we will have a jetboil, and (hopefully!) a camping stove.

El plan:
Leave UVa Friday morning, go straight to the crags and climb that afternoon
Climb and hang out, taking rest days where needed for the next 9 days
Leave sunday morning nice and early, so we get back to UVa with some of the day still intact

We will have a guidebook and figure out the crags while we are at the campsite, but it’ll be a negotiation, per the usual.

Climbing Shoes
Harness
Helmet
Sleeping bag & mat
Water bottle
Clothes for the week
Camping Food (or money for food)

We will bring:
Ropes
Draws
Belay devices
Stick clip
Guidebook
