STARGAZING AT BIG MEADOWS

OVERVIEW

A lot of y’all have been asking me when I’m leading another stargazing trip, but honestly I’ve been waiting for the clouds to clear up. But next Sunday is set to be a perfectly clear night out in Shenandoah, and I’ve heard some great things about the views from Big Meadows. And since this is in SNP, we can bring as many people as we can fit into cars. As always, drivers get priority off the waitlist (gas + 50% tip up to $20). To be honest, I don’t know whether SNP is going to check park passes that late with the government shutdown, but anybody with a parks pass also gets priority.

What to bring:
* Warm clothes (probably will be upper 30s-low 40s)
* A blanket/quilt to lie on
* Water/snacks
* Headlamp/flashlight
* A telescope/camera if ya want

Timeline:
7:00 PM – head out from Echols
8:30 PM – get to big meadows, enjoy the views
10:30 – 11 PM – head back to cville
12-12:30 AM – back in cville!
