OVERVIEW

UPDATE: THIS IS NOW ON SUNDAY NIGHT! And since a lot of people have been put on the waitlist, I’m raising the enrollment cap from 6 to 8.

Yo yo yo yo yo! Do you like looking up into the vast nothingness of space, only to realize that YOU are the one that’s actually nothing? Sorry if that sounds a bit harsh, but this universe is crazy big. There are trillions of stars up in the sky, and humans have looked up to them for centuries, recounting folk tales or navigating with them. Unfortunately, in the year of our lord 2023, these stars have become quite hard for the naked eye to see in most places. You can blame industrialization and artificial lighting for that, as the emanating glow from cities and cars drown out the light of the heavens. But fear no more, I have a solution! Highland County, Virginia, is home to a really special dark spot, one of the darkest on the east coast outside of Maine or Florida’s Everglades. I’ve been here many times, and I can tell you, it’s incredible. Telling you you can see the Milky Way would be an understatement; it is beyond magnificent. You should absolutely come along and chill, look up at the stars, and relax in a beautiful town in the middle of nowhere.
— WHAT TO BRING —
Yourself
Your eyes
Whatever you enjoy looking at the stars with (a small telescope could be fun)
Warm Clothes/A blanket (it is going to be COLD!!!!!!, like 25 degrees farenheit)

I have a car, but I can only fit 3 other people in it, thus, another driver would be a great addition. Remember, you can get your gas reimbursed!
I’ve been monitoring the weather, and Saturday looks good. Mostly clear, and the Moon will be the tiniest sliver of a crescent. The next day, Sunday, is even clearer, and the Moon will be new. If this sounds better to you, answer one of the questions I put, and we might move it to Sunday night if that would work better, but if not, Saturday is more than fine. Can’t wait to see you!
