Strawberry Fields – the Finest Crack in All of Va ~Moderate/Advanced~

It turns out, hidden under all of the undulating boulders at old rag is a 70 ft crack known only to those who seek its existence. Inside this crack is all of the knowledge that can be found within Shenandoah National Park. Recently, a close group of friends and I were gifted the location of such a wonder and are looking to seek out its treasures this Friday.

What: Climbin’ dawggg (not for beginners, you should have some experience climbing outside and are in good physical shape)

When: Friday November 3rd 2017 @ 10am is when we will be departing Cville on our quest

Where: Old Rag in Shenandoah National Park: where we will ascend ~2000 ft – on foot with all our gear- to the peak, bushwhack our way off the trail in search of this amazing crack

There will be other routes to climb, with the possibility of other walls as well but the main goal is to get to Strawberry fields.

what to bring:
-all your necessary climbing gear (harness, belay device, shoes)
-at least 2L of what
-appropriate clothes for the hike, temperature, and climbing
-bag to carry yo junk
-tasty snacks
-a couple of terrible jokes to share
-Shenandoah parking pass if you’ve got one

I will bring a rope and all the necessary trad gear.
The club can provide:
-harness
-shoes
-chalk bag
-helmet
-belay device
