Strickler knob is a 8.6 mile hike with some rock scrabling at the top. Its only got about 2000 ft of elevation gain, but a significant portion of it comes in about half a mile at the end so that part is pretty steep. hiking upward: https://www.hikingupward.com/GWNF/StricklerKnob/
The Plan:
8:00 – meet at echols
9:30 – get to trailhead
11:45 – lunch at the summit
2:30 – get back to trailhead
4:00 – back to cville
What to bring:
2L of water
lunch/snacks
backpack or something to put that stuff in
sturdy shoes
