Sufjan Stevens Appreciation Parlance @ Blackrock Summit

OVERVIEW

Yo,

I’m a second semester 4th year on a part-time class schedule…. join me in my degenerate ways!! I plan on going up to Blackrock Summit (in the Southern end of Shenandoah NP) and listening through one/two Sufjan Stevens albums on my bluetooth speaker ( most likely “Carrie and Lowell” or “Illinois” ) while stargazing and chatting about life / beauty / the nature of nature / etc. This hike is v short (1 mile round trip) so this is mostly a hang sesh in a really pretty spot.

I can drive but if more than 4 sign up I’ll give a driver wait list priority! I also have a park pass but if a second car is needed that will be considered too. Temps look not too cold but bring blankets / layers according to your internal thermostat (:

It’s an hour drive so we’ll get there around 8:30pm, hang for a while (at least an hour / hour and a half) then drive back for an 11 or 11:30pm return.

You bring:
– light source
– warm blanket or layers
– pillow (if you want)
– snacks (if you want)
– water

I bring:
– bluetooth speaker
– talking points about explicitly anti-capitalist modes of social organization
– moderately intrusive icebreaker questions
