OVERVIEW

Woooooo!!! an outdoors club trip during the summer! Please sign up and help me pay for gas! This is honestly just a probe of who’s around and interested, details in this trip descrip are verrry loose and subject to change. Overnight trip anyone?

What is up y’all, do you want to learn to or learn more about how to whitewater kayak? Well so do I. JK, ya boy is now ACA level 4 certified to teach you all the things u need to know, and we r also just gonna have a sick and chill time on the river. Sign up and lets go paddling! I don’t have any idea who is willing to commit a day to paddling at this point so idk what skill level this will be until a bunch of you sign up. The Moves will either be to run the Upper James (beginner section) if we have mostly beginners/ppl feeling that vibe, or to run the Upper James into the Lower James (more intermediate section) if we have people with a little more experience/ppl are stoked for a challenge. Please simply indicate your kayaking experience and stoke/preference for each plan in the questionnaire. We will go by the majority preference if the trip doesn’t fill, or I will try to make a cohesive group of beginners/intermediates if there is a waitlist. I will try and prefer intermediates as I know you’re stoked and out there and have been asking for it. Note that the Upper + Lower intermediate option will likely take longer (or not if you paddle fast). See also the links to the American Whitewater pages for the Upper and Lower sections of the James respectively below.
