Sunday at Humpback Rocks

OVERVIEW

Put the sun back in your Sunday and join me on a loop hike to Humpback Rocks! As a depressed Patriots fan who needs a distraction from our terrible offense I figured it would be a good idea to take advantage of the promising forecast and head over to the blue ridge parkway. According to AllTrails the hike is 4.2 miles with a bit over 1,000 feet of elevation gain so nothing too crazy.

Very general timeline:
11:00 AM: meet and depart from Echols
11:45: arrive at trailhead
12:45 PM: arrive at humpback rocks
1:15: leave viewpoint area
2:45: back at trailhead
3:30: back at echols

Unfortunately I do not have a car so drivers are needed! If you have a car you will get priority and will also be eligible for gas reimbursement. Also, I will try to prioritize new members who have not been able to go on a trip yet. I will also increase the capacity for this trip if we get multiple drivers.

You bring:
– Hiking shoes/boots
– Plenty of water (better to bring too much than not enough)
– Snacks/lunch
– Bug spray
– Layers (forecast is calling for mid 60s)
– A bag to store all of that in
I bring:
– First aid kit
