Echols Dorm: Brick Wall By Side Door
Blue Hole
Um guys, did you hear that it’s supposed to be NINETY-FIVE degrees Sunday? Let’s beat the heat and go for a swim in the freezing cold water at Blue Hole (aka Sugar Hollow, to some people). If you haven’t heard, this is on the list of things you have to do before you graduate UVA. We’ll meet at Echols at 1:00 Sunday afternoon, and after the 30 minute drive to the reservoir, take a short (40 minute?), easy hike to the swimming hole, where a sweet rope swing and chilly blue water will await us.
If the vigilante reservoir patrolman (just a grouchy fisherman) is there to ruin our fun like he has been in the past, we’ll just head another half mile up the road and go to Snake Hole, which is just as refreshing.
What you bring:
A bathing suit under your clothes
Shoes that can get wet AND can hike in (you have to cross the creek to get there, however, you can take your shoes on and off instead if you prefer)
Towel
Water
Camera?
What the club provides:
Seat in a car
Gas money + 30% if you drive
