Sunday Bouldering at Second Mountain

OVERVIEW

It looks beautiful on Sunday, so forget about books and learning and join me for a day of soaking up rays and wrestling with pebbles at Second Mountain (http://www.drtopo.com/submitted/2nd_mtn.pdf), one of Virginia’s top bouldering spots.

Plan is to leave Cville at 9:30am and get back to town about 6:30pm. These times are flexible based on everyone’s availability though, so please let me know if you need to leave town later or return earlier. The boulders are 1.5hrs away so that gives you a solid 6 hours to thrash yourself on bullet-hard sandstone.

I wouldn’t recommend coming on this trip unless you have at least a little climbing experience, but if you’re unsure just ask me. There will not be a gear room on Sunday, so if you don’t have climbing shoes or chalk, you’ll need to get ahold of some before then.

I will be driving and can fit 2 or 3 passengers. You don’t need 4WD to get up to the boulders, but a bit of ground clearance helps.
