Corner Of Echols Dorm
Corner Of Echols Dorm
Visible Records, Broadway Street, Charlottesville, VA, USA
Hello lovelies! Come join me this Sunday morning for a wonderful time gardening at Visible Records. It’s a space for art, community organizing, localized social justice and of course the gardens!
Visible Records has two gardens: one, Common Field, produces crops for the local Visions of Liberation Free Store, while their other plot, Solitary Gardens, is an offshoot of a nationally-known peaceful movement for prison abolition and redefinition. In these gardens, the plots are made to the exact size of a solitary confinement cell, and people who are currently imprisoned in solitary confinement can request what be grown in this (very small) plot. You can learn more about the movement at Visible Records or the Solitary Gardens movement at large.

Here’s the plan:
9:45 – meet at the corner of Echols dorm
10:00 – plunge fingers into dirt
12:00 – rejuvenatedly meander back to Grounds
Please bring layers for whatever weather and dirt may happen, and snackies/water for if you get hungry/thirsty!
