Echols Dorm: Brick Wall By Side Door
I’m sick as a dog at the moment and I need something to get me through this week so what’s better than having a dope hike to look forward to? Anyhow, I haven’t hiked Old Rag yet (I know I’m slacking), so let’s get my nature education up to par and cure our post-Halloween party blues with some fresh air and a 9 mile hike! Weather will be spectacular, one of the warmest days for the rest of the year, so I figure we should take full advantage of this good fortune.
I plan on running/keepin a super fast pace on the way back down the fire road in addition to this already being a strenous hike, so just make sure you’ve got the stamina/positive energy to make this a frickin blast!
Plannin on heading out from Echols round 730, an hour getting up there, ~5 hours to hike, an hour getting back, allowing for a bit of extra time means we’ll return to the Ville of Charlotte by 330, probably sooner.
important: DOES COST $5 for parking!!!!!!
what to bring:
– good running/hiking shoes
– an ocean of quality h2o
– enough snacks to last 5-6 hours
– yearning to see some wonderful views
– a real camera?
taking 8-10 people at max, priority for another driver and if you have a shenandoah pass.
TLDR; PLEASE LISTEN TO SHAKEY GRAVES’ MUSIC, NAMELY “LATE JULY”, AND THANK GOD FOR THE AUSTIN TEXAS MUSIC SCENE. that is all
