Sunny Sunday Intermediate Climbing at Sunshine Wall

OVERVIEW

Hi guys.

it is a new year, and i haven’t gone climbing outside yet. plus moab is darn soon, so we must warm up for that. AND, where better a place to warm up, than west virginia’s very own SUNSHINE WALL. Me shihe and ben are going to go here sunday, and would love some accompanyment, and all who meet the following criteria are invited: can lead belay, lead climb, can clean routes and whatnot, and is generally awesome and loves nature and respecting our environment (this one is super easy im not worried about this being a problem for anyone). All that being said, since we have enough experienced ppl on the trip, we would love to let one or maybe two people with minimal exposure to the aforementioned skill sets to come along to get more exposure. We are looking to climb routes in the 5.8-5.10 maybe 5.11 range if people want. Me and shihe love our easy stuff, but could be convinced to go crazy.

We are planning to leave at 8am for crag and leave crag by 4pm so that we can be back in town in time for the moab bonfire. in terms of what to bring, it will be the usual: harness, helmet, belay devices, shoes, chalk, etc etc. We will bring the other important climbing stuff such as rope for climbing, rope for anchoring, quickdraws, etc. If you need help getting any of this gear let us know, or if you have any questions reach out to any of us.

you will also want to make sure to bring: layers, 2L water, snackies, etc. it will be a high of 47 or so, but this wall does get a lot of sun (hence it’s name), so keep all of that in mind.
