sunrise art trip

OVERVIEW

heyo outdoors club it’s been quite some time but please take this trip as proof that i am alive and well. i went from leading a sunrise hike every week last fall to this being my first trip of the semester but hey it’s not too late to forgive and forget is it?

I’ve been craving the outside world lately and I just discovered that the secret to going there is to MAKE to do so. so here’s a sunrise hike, just like the good ol’ days

BUT WITH A TWIST

this hike will be in collaboration with my favorite young’un in the club: Caroline Weis, and here’s the gimmick she’s introducing: ART

that’s right, the plan is to hike to the top of bearfence, pop a squat, and do some doodles, whether they be in pencil, watercolor, marble, blood, music notes, choreographed dance, edited short films, or slam poetry. the gist is that we will be exploring our ~creative~ sides as we revel in the glory of the sun erecting itself over its magical kingdom and our home the earth

the schedule:
5:30am–meet at echols
5:45am–depart
6:45am–arrive at the trailhead n hike
7:30am–the sun rises to reveal our beautiful creations
9:15-9:30ish–return home, hang up our pictures, and nap before class

what to bring:
-hiking shoes
-headlamp
-food?
-water!
-art supplies! (caroline and i will be bringing limited watercolors/crayons and paper, plz bring something to contribute to our ARTillery such that you aren’t left out)
-jokes/stories/conversation topics/general friendship
