Sunrise at Humpback! Yay!

OVERVIEW

Want to watch the sunrise over some beautiful Virginia mountains (while maybe being a little chilly)? Here’s your chance! We will hike up to the top of Humpback (～1 mile each way) in the dark, watch the sunrise, probably take some cool pictures, and then head down to be back in time for one more day of classes before the weekend. I hope to be back to grounds by 9am at the latest, however I cannot guarantee you will make it to a 9am class on time – 10am classes should be fine though.

Humpback is a relatively easy hike although very steep in some places. You don’t need to be a super experienced hiker to join! However, please keep in mind that doing this in the dark on the way up is an added challenge.

**DRIVERS NEEDED AND WILL BE INITIALLY GIVEN PRIORITY** And gas can be reimbursed!

What to bring:
– Flashlight or headlamp!!! This is a must! (you can get a headlamp from the gear room)
– Lots of warm layers – it will be pretty cold in the dark and especially once we reach the top
– Shoes you feel comfortable hiking in
– Water
– And if you would like… breakfast to eat at the top of the mountain as you watch the sunrise???
