Sunrise Hike at Humpback

OVERVIEW

Are you looking to leave the boundaries of campus and see the beautiful changing colors of the leaves? Humpback Rocks are only about half an hour away from UVA along Blue Ridge Parkway. The view from Humpback Rocks is fairly spectacular- you can see some of the city, but also the surrounding mountains. It is also a great view for the sunrise, which we will be watching. Since it will be dark on the way up, try to bring a flashlight or a headlamp. I know for sure that there will be a Tuesday night gear room!

This hike is short (less than an hour to reach the top) but of a fairly steep elevation. Make sure that you bring:
1. Appropriate hiking shoes
2. A snack, since we will be waiting around to watch the sun rise (for example, a granola bar or an apple)
3. WATER
4. A flashlight if you have one
5. layers, layers, layers

The minimum number of attendees is set at 5 right now, but I will add more people as drivers sign up.
