Sunrise Hike on Humpack Rocks!

Start your week off right with a sunrise hike!

We’ll wake up real early and drive out to Humpback rocks just in time for sunrise.

Humpback Rocks is the most popular hike near grounds and is on the list of the things to do before you graduate. Why? A relatively short climb to a spectacular overlook of the Shenandoah Valley.

Bring a breakfast to eat in the car or at the summit.

Sunrise is expected at 6:45. Humpback is short but rigorous. Prepare yourself for a fairly steep uphill hike that will last ~40 mins.

Itinerary:
5:50am – Meet at Echols dorm (don’t be late!)
6:30-8am – Hike up, hike down
9:15am – Arrive back in Cville.

Odds are we will arrive earlier, but I just want to ensure that you folks with early classes don’t miss anything.

It shouldn’t be pitch black on the way up, but bring a headlamp or flashlight if you have one.

What to bring:
– comfy, sturdy shoes
– water
– breakfast, snacks
– a cup of coffee if you’re not a morning person
