Echols Dorm: Brick Wall By Side Door
Hawksbill Mountain
Luv me a good sunset and SNP is the best place around to admire one! This Tuesday, let’s visit the highest peak in the park (which ironically happens to be one of the chiller and less intense hikes in Shenandoah) and enjoy the beautiful mountains we get to call ~home~!!! Looks like we should have pretty clear weather with enough clouds for mother nature to paint us a nice view :’) also if u are missing your furry friends from home, Charlie and I will be bringing our 10 month old pup along for the hike and she will do anything for a good butt scratch.
Logistics:
Leave Echols dorm no later than 5:20 PM (pls be here a few minutes early, since we are racing the sun we won’t be able to wait for any stragglers)
Arrive at Hawksbill trailhead ~6:50 PM
Hike for about 25 minutes (about 1.5 miles with just a lil incline) to the summit, chill at the summit, play instruments, eat snacks, pet dog, etc.
7:38 = dat sunset
Hike back down and get to cars around 8
Back in Cville no later than 9:40 PM!

bring ya own headlamp or take one out from gear room! it will be dark when we hike back to the cars
sweatshirt/layers – the weather in SNP can be deceiving and idk about anyone else but I’m almost always chilly at summits no matter what season it is
musical instrument if u so desire!!!
