Bonnycastle Circle
South River Falls
This short evening hike will take us through some beautiful trails in the park, back to a hidden waterfall that most people don’t visit. There’s a decent-sized swimming hole there, plenty big enough to get cool if you want, so if it’s hot and you’re in the mood, feel free to dress for a dip. Part of the trail is a circuit, so we won’t be hiking over the same trail on the way back, which is an added benefit. We’ll get back to the cars in time to drive to a scenic overlook and watch the sunset to the west. This hike is just a short jaunt to get out there and enjoy the beautiful outdoors and weather we’ve been having!
I’ll bring snacks; you bring water, a shirt in case it gets cool, and sensible shoes for a hike that’ll last a couple of hours over relatively easy terrain. You might also want to bring bug repellent.
If it rains, we’ll cancel, but it’s supposed to be nice, with a high of 90. The mountains will be cool and beautiful in that kind of weather.
