Outdoor Recreation Center
Old Rag
Believe it, ladies and gentlemen, two Old Rag trips! The difference is that this trip is this weekend (instead of next weekend) and is timed for the sunset (instead of the sunrise).
Known for its rock scrambles and amazing views, Old Rag is one of the most popular hikes in Virginia. It’s about a 6 hour hike and has an elevation about 2500 ft… so it can be fairly strenuous. We are going to hike to the summit, eat dinner, chill out, and, of course, watch the sun set! So get excited.
Things to bring:
– Backpack (You will need your hands for parts of this hike.)
– Headlamp (We will hike back in the dark.)
– Extra layers! (It will get cold at the top.)
– Dinner and snacks
– Water
Best views in Virginia + awesome rock scrambles + beautiful sunset = you signing up for this trip.
Logistical details:
-There is a football game this weekend, so we are not meeting near the craziness. We will meet at the Outdoors Recreation Center, which is right next to the Cavalier Inn (on the corner of Emmet and Ivy) and diagonally across from the Synder tennis courts.
-Drivers will get priority off the waitlist.
