Echols Dorm: Brick Wall By Side Door
First Landing State Park
(Who goes to Foxfield anyway?)
Instead come out to camp at Virginia Beach! We will be going to First Landing on Friday early afternoon (~3 hr drive), swimming/wading in the afternoon, and then camping the night. We’ll explore the park the next day– including swimming and slacklining and being lazy. The water is warmer than the rest of Virginia Beach because it’s in a bay. If there is group interest we’ll hit up the main part of the beach Saturday afternoon for a few hours (most likely either 85th St or 34th St, my personal favorites, depending on if we want seclusion or not). We’ll drive back to C’ville that evening.
More info: “First Landing State Park is located by the Chesapeake Bay. The park, which is Virginia’s most visited state park, is nestled in Virginia Beach. First Landing offers boating, swimming, nature and history programs, hiking, biking, picnicking, a boat launch, cabins and 20 miles of trails on 2,888 acres. It also has campsites with water and electric hook-ups and nearby access to restrooms and showers.”
I’ve gone to VB on Foxfield weekend every year and it’s always been a blast. Sometimes the water is a little chilly but I always swim anyways. 🙂
