Thanks to nursing school the only days I can do sunrise hikes this semester are on the weekends, so join me in waking up way too early on a Sunday to catch a sunrise from Humpback! Also Charlie and I are gonna bring our 10 month old pup along for the hike so if you’re feeling deprived of a furry friend this hike is for you!
For those of you who aren’t familiar with the hike, Humpback is a steep <1 mile hike about 40 minutes away from Charlottesville. The hike kicks my butt every time and is heavily trafficked, but the views from the top are amazing especially for sunrise and sunset! Logistics: 5:25 AM meet at Echols 5:30 AM leave Echols 6:10 AM get to trailhead, start hiking 7:08 AM sunrise <33333 7:45 AM get back to cars 8:45 AM get back to grounds! You bring: 1L water Sturdy shoes Layers (it’s gonna be in the high 50s in the morning and most likely pretty windy) Headlamp/angler fish/some source of light Musical instruments if you so desire Breakfast if ya want ***DRIVERS NEEDED***** I will be waitlisting everyone until I have a sufficient amount of drivers signed up! As always, the club reimburses for gas AND you get a 50% tip!
