take a break from studying for gorgeous sunset viewz + picnic!!

OVERVIEW

Take a little break from studying to bop on up to Hawksbill Summit: a super quick 1.5-mile out and back trail that is relatively steep on the way up but should allow for a nice distraction from the stress of finals. I’m thinking we acquire some foods from Trader Joe’s, get to the summit a little before sunset, have a relaxing little picnic dinner with our acquired foods, then take in the gorgeous colors of the sky before descending back down. Please let me know if you have any allergies the group should be aware of!!

plan:
5:20 leave echols
5:30 pick up some din from trader joe’s
5:50 leave for trailhead
7:00 arrive at trailhead
7:40 grub at summit
8:15ish take in sunset
8:20 stroll back down
10:15 arrive back at echols

to bring:
-comfy shoes
-water
-money for TJ’s (or a packed dinner)
-headlamp/flashlight for trek down if you so desire
-SNP PASS (I do not have one, depending on # of people who sign up/have a SNP pass trip will be free, otherwise will need to split the $30 per car for entry into SNP)
-^about $5 cash/venmo for park entry if no one with a pass signs up
