Tents Workshop, Backpacking Series

OVERVIEW

Ever wondered How to pitch a tent, pack it, clean it, find a good location for it and things like this? Come join us on the Lawn on Thursday for a quick workshop about this. You can bring your food and eat dinner there.

we will quickly go over tents and differences like 2/3/4..pole, symmetric/unsymmetric, light tents/ 3 season/ 4 season/ expedition tents and after talking about principles we will divide in groups and pitch the club tents in the lawn. you are more than welcome to bring your own tent or tarp and show others how to pitch it. hopefully everybody will find a chance to pitch and pack 2-3 tents.
It should be pretty when we have that many colorful tents in the Lawn, maybe for the first time in the UVA history!!!

This backpacking series continues in the coming weeks with stove, backpack, clothing, sleeping set ups, food, basic navigation workshops.
