Thankful for Nature (Thanksgiving?) Hike

OVERVIEW

Thanksgiving break is coming up and I am from the Land Of Limited Hiking AKA Nova. I need to get one more nature fill in before break & it’s time to show our thankfulness for Shenandoah anyways!

Let’s go to Stony Man for a quick sunset hike. It’s a BEAUTIFUL hike with amazing views that is less than a mile up to the summit! Gonna be so prettayyyy.

According to sunrisesunsest.com (10/10 would recommend), sunset is at 5:02 pm. Let’s leave at 2:45 from Echols, make the hour and 15 minute drive to the trailhead, and hike up. We will be there before the sunset so nothing is rushed and we appreciate the thankfulness in all of it’s glory. Watch the sunset until 5:45 ish, hike back down, make it back on grounds around 7:30 (math?).

What to bring
-hiking shoes
-water
-snacks
-headlamp/light source
-PIE (I’m 100% serious if anyone want’s to bring a store bought pie to share or something I will pay you)
-SNP pass if you have one, $5 if not
