I’m posting this mostly just to see whose around Thanksgiving weekend that would potentially be interested in some whitewater paddling (all skill levels will considered, even first timers on a river).
Local runs are always nice, but a WV/MD trip isn’t out of question depending who signs up. If you don’t have your own boat and gear sign up early and tell me your gear needs.
TIMES/PLAN/LEGAL:
There’s no set depart/return time just yet… Put in the Q&A if there’s any specific river’s you’d like to paddle, and what day(s) you’re available. This could also end up being a day trip or two to somewhere, but I’ll set it up to accommodate potentially paddling Fri-Sunday.
Note: I am NOT “leading” on any of these rivers, I am only coordinating some logistics and transportation to the river, you are responsible for your own safety and the activities you choose to participate in while on this trip, and you agree to have read and will abide by the American Whitewater Safety Code http://www.americanwhitewater.org/content/Wiki/safety:start?
Those with the appropriate skills may join me as “Common Adventurers”
REQUIRED SKILLS:
Everyone gets waitlisted till I screen your skills, which should include: Reliable combat roll and/or stellar bracing/leaning skills such that you don’t have to roll.
**THE WATER IS NOW COLD!** That means the difficulty of most runs effectively goes up!
FOOD:
I’ll buy some if we do the overnight thing. Otherwise, BYOF, BYOB.
CAMPING:
We may camp somewhere, bring extra $ for possible camp fees
Club Provides: Boats & Gear if you need them
You Provide: Any paddling and camping gear you already have, rain dances
