The Elusive Wintergreen Bluebird POW Day

OVERVIEW

Guys, it’s happening. It’s actually happening. The NWS is calling for 18 FREAKING INCHES OF SNOW AT WINTERGREEN!!!!

This will mostly be occurring Tuesday and Wednesday, but I’m busy on those dates as well as most of Thursday. However. I am free Friday morning. So you know what that means….
It is supposed to be a bluebird day on Friday. I also have a feeling it might be PACKED, so we need to leave early to get there before there’s no parking left.

I would also like to be skiing with people who are a bit on the more experienced side, as I’m really hoping to hit some glade (tree) skiing while we’re there. There’s a few secret trails I know of, and I’d REALLY like to see what they look like with 18 inches of snow.

We will also need another driver if we’re going to take 7 people. I can drive 4 people in my car. I’d prefer it if the people in each car can stick together, but as long as each driving group can stay in contact with each other, we can split off. This will also help organize people into intermediate and advanced groups.

Regarding the cost, I have a season pass, and there are lift ticket bundles you can purchase at https://www.wintergreenresort.com/lift-tickets/. For one day, purchasing online IN ADVANCE, a ticket is $109. This might seem expensive, but it’s a small price to pay for the elusive Wintergreen POW day.

If you need rentals, that is extra as well. If you’re renting from the mountain, they will be more expensive than renting from the Ski Barn down the mountain. Check out their website at https://skibarn.net if interested, and mention if you’re renting in the questionnaire.

ITINERARY:
7:00am meet up at echols (don’t be late!)
7:15 Head to WTG!
8:15 Arrive there and try to find parking (it might be a nightmare)
8:19 Start strapping up
8:30 HIT THE SLOPES
1:45 (at least in my car) Head back to the car
2:00 Drive back
3:00pm Arrive home, I will drop you off if you’re in my car 😀

Let’s shred this Friday at a mountain that hasn’t gotten snow like this in YEARS!!! So hype for this 🙂

Oh, and by the way, WXTJ and 1ndieheads are having a show Friday night that y’all should pull up to! That’s also the reason we have to be back at 3 lol.
