the end of an era: fall semester 2019

OVERVIEW

well folks it’s the end of an era; this friday marks the last day of classes for the fall semester 2019. for me, it’s truly the end of the era… come friday morning at sunrise, i will have gone to my final day of classes as a UVA undergraduate student. i’m emo to say the least and i can’t think of a better way to celebrate than by watching the sun rise above shenandoah (for those who still have a lingering class or two on friday, we will be back in time for you to scurry off to your 9 AM’s).

it’s a short lil 1 mile hike that takes very little effort, however keep in mind that thursday night is LOTL. it’s a truly wonderful event and many students will get as lit as the christmas lights adorning the rotunda, but just be sure it won’t cause you to be a flaker friday morning! for more details on this hike: https://www.alltrails.com/trail/us/virginia/blackrock-summit-via-trayfoot-mountain-and-appalachian-trail

the plan:
5:05 AM leave echols
6:25 AM trailhead
~30 minutes of hiking~
7:13 here comes the sun
~bop on back down~
back to UVA by 9AM

to bring:
– SNP pass (i have 1)
– sturdy shoes
– layers!!! (it’ll be chilly at the top)
– liquids: must bring water, but coffee/tea/hot cocoa is also recommended
– snacks/breakfast
