the one and only NRGE redemption tour (NRGE hiking)

OVERVIEW

last year, I woke up sick on the day of NRGE. as it turns out, walking pneumonia is a very tough customer, and I unfortunately had to miss the hike I was supposed to colead. It was very sad.
But now, I get a chance for a little redemption tour, since the trails are still there and waiting for us! we’ll be doing a loop that’s a little over six miles and will take us by the ruins of an old mine. I have this marked as intermediate because there’s 1,194 feet of elevation gain, but if you’re feeling confident in your abilities then give it a shot!

General Timeline:
10:00 AM: meet at campground
10:20 AM: arrive kaymoor miners trailhead and start hiking
~2:00 PM: back at trailhead
~2:30 PM: back at rays

Unfortunately, I do not have a car so driver(s) are needed! If you have a car you will get priority for this trip which will also get you onto the main NRGE carpool. I will let more people onto this trip if two drivers sign up.

You Bring:
– Hiking shoes/boots
– Lots of water, better to bring too much than not enough
– Snacks/lunch
– Layers (plan for chilly weather)
I bring:
– First aid kit
– Binoculars
