Rise and shine folks,
Prime your alarms for the old standby: we’re hiking HUMPDAY HUMPBACK. For you newcomers to Cville, know that the hallowed humpback summit is to hiking like a Bodo’s bagel is to breakfast: a true Cville-style classic.
The simple plan:
1. We’ll meet at Echols dorm in the 5:00 AM gloom and leave absolutely no later than 5:15
2. Hike the (steep) 1-mile trail at 5:50 AM
3. We should summit before sunrise (6:55 AM), then proceed to ~marinate our minds in morning-magic ~ steep our souls in summit-sunrise-scenery ~ before returning to the trailhead at 8:15 AM
4. Return to grounds around 8:45-ish
PLEASE BRING:
* 1 to 2L of water
* Appropriate clothing (might be chilly up there, I’d recommend a jacket)
* A flashlight or headlamp (pref. not your phone)
