White Oak Canyon Trailhead, Chad Berry Lane, Syria, VA, USA
Hello friends, I am in search for Fall foliage and have decided that White Oak Canyon is a pretty good spot to find it. The trail we will be doing is about a 5 mile out and back hike with 1,400 feet elevation gain that follows the Robinson river up the canyon. This is a pretty scenic hike with a lot of waterfalls, overlooks, a creek crossing or two, and hopefully, many colorful leaves. The hike is listed as hard on AllTrails, but in my opinion it’s not too bad. I’ll post the AllTrails below if you’re interested in more details, but trust me this one is a banger.

The Plan:
Meet at Echols at 1 pm
Get to the trailhead at about 2 pm or so
Hike for a good 3-4 hours(depending on how fast we go and how distracted we get)
Leave the trailhead at around 5:30-6 pm
Get back to Echols by about 7 pm
What to Bring:
Appropriate shoes to hike in
1-2 liters of water
Some layers(may get cold)
I have a car and a park pass, so we are good for both of those.
