What is there to do in Damascus?!

The primary attraction is Trail Dayz 2018 – a festival for long distance hikers and outdoorsy folk that celebrates all things hiking! There will be vendors, gear companies, demos, concerts, a parade, free shit and lots of other stuff. But best of all there will be a ton of like-minded dirt-bag hiker trash to hang out with. Most of this will go down in “tent city” where hikers gather to drink, dance around a drum circle, otherwise be merry. Link to website here – http://traildays.us/index.php?id=1

Damascus is otherwise an outdoor mecca!
– Creeper trail may be biked (I think there may be mountain biking somewhere too if that’s a thing you enjoy)
– Bouldering in grayson highlands is on point https://www.mountainproject.com/area/106477419/grayson-highlands-state-park
– Hiking in Grayson highlands is epic too (There are ponies that love granola bars and kicking hikers in the balls)

Things to Bring:
Water and Containers for water?
Shoes/Boots for hiking
A day pack
a backpack
Shelter
Sleeping bag/pad
Food (We can do group food and/or there are restaurants. Once we have a crew we can talk about this)
Climbing shoes
A harness
A chalk bag
Sunscreen

You are welcome to research/pursue your own activities while there. If you have an idea throw it in the comments!
