Echols Dorm: Brick Wall By Side Door
Walnut Creek Park
What better way to work off an Irish hang over by working on the best county mountain bike/hike trails in Albemarle? If you ever use the trails at Walnut Creek Park or plan on using them, you should give back to them. Building new trails and working on existing ones is a great way to appreciate the places you ride as well as acquire/build (pun – hah! 🙂 trail making experience. This, along with every monthly (typically the first Saturday of each month), work day at WCP (Walnut Creek Park) is put on by CAMBC – Charlottesville Area Mountain Bike Club. They provide tools, guideance, and usually granola bars. Please bring work gloves, trail tools if you have any, hiking boots, and plenty of water.
We’ll work on the trails from about 10-12, grab a quick energy replenisher, then go for a 1-2 hour casual ride. The club provides the bikes. You should bring some athletic wear for for the ride, plenty of water (if you wear hiking boots for the trail maintenance, don’t forget to bring sneakers for the ride), snacks, and a lunch if you want.
