Fortune's Cove Preserve
Come on out for some fun exercise while contributing to a great cause: The Nature Conservancy. The project will involve building stairs and water runoff paths with logs, cutting back overgrowth, and ending with enjoying an amazing view. We’ll be removing small limbs, roots, groundcover, rocks and other obstacles along an existing trail route. Light digging, raking, and small limb-removal is planned. On hand to lead you will be The Nature Conservancy’s trusty land steward Tim SanJule. We will work in light rain or shine. Heavy downpour cancels this workday.
Outdoors at UVa provides:
Gas money and a seat in a car if you need one. The Nature Conservancy will provide all tools as well as some snacks and bevvies.
You must bring:
Please wear long pants and long sleeves; boots are preferred but sneakers are o.k. Also bring gloves and maybe a hat and/or sunscreen. Please bring a lunch and plenty of fluids.
