Walnut Creek Park
Walnut Creek Park is one of my favorite places to ride in Virginia, and it’s only 10 miles away! The park offers numerous trail networks, from wide gravel roads to tight, technical, single track, for all skill levels. The trails are also used for day hiking, trail running, and golf Frisbee. The first Saturday of each month (this Sat.) is trail maintenance day. Working on the trails is a great way to learn how to build and maintain trails, should be done by those that use them or plan on using them, only takes ~ a couple hours, and involves a lot of hiking. After spending a couple of hours making the trails all nice, we can test our work by biking through them! The sign up number is for 6, me + 5 others who want to use the club’s bikes or have no way of transporting their own. If you want to go, have a bike, and have a way of transporting it and don’t mind driving (the club pays for gas), don’t sign up, just email me or call 760-2739. Trail maintenance starts at 10am, so we’ll meet at my place at 9:30. Call if you get lost.
