Trail Maintenance Work at Snp (Help Needed!)

OVERVIEW

The recent rainstorm has affected many (if not all) trails in the Southern district of the Shenandoah National Park. As such, trail overseers of the SNP are working hard to clear blow-downs, fix water bars, and re-blaze trails. Please come help maintain a trail at SNP this Friday, before leaving for Fall break!

The departure time is flexible, and the work will be roughly 1.5 hours in total (excluding travel time which should be about 45 minutes each way). Ideally we would be leaving in the afternoon sometime after 2PM and getting back by early evening (~6PM). I can drive up to 4 people, and we can meet somewhere on central grounds so I can pick everyone up.

All the maintenance equipment we need will be taken from the ranger’s station, but you should bring your own water, light snacks, and other items you’d bring for a 2 hour hike. Since this is a service trip, you’d be eligible for a $7 reimbursement on food!

There’s also a little creek at the end of the trail that we can chill, eat food (I’ll bring the good stuff), and relax from the week. Any help would really be appreciated — please please come help preserve the national park we all love so much.
