The fall foliage in Shenandoah National Park has begun to turn, so let’s head to the hills to check it out! This loop is slightly over 10 miles and has 2200 feet of elevation gain – we will follow the ridges and get plenty of overlooks of the fall colors. We will start from Blackrock Summit Parking and head south on the AT, working clockwise to end on the summit of Trayfoot Mountain (3374 feet!) before heading north back to the vehicle (note: the Alltrails link is not the exact route). Should be a chill day of wandering in the woods and crisp mountain air.

Itinerary:
– 9:00 AM: Meet & leave from Echols.
– 10:00 AM: Arrive at trailhead and begin hike.
– 4:00 PM: Complete loop and return to vehicle.
– 5:00 PM: Return to grounds.
What to Bring:
– Water (2+ Liters).
– Comfortable hiking shoes/boots.
– Weather-appropriate attire (cold weather is likely and rain is possible).
– Lunch and snacks.
