Nau 211
Nau 211
Ever want to lead a trip with Outdoors at UVa but not sure how? Come out to Nau 211 on Monday, Nov. 10th at 7pm to learn all about the trip leading process.
Why be a trip leader?
– Gain valuable leadership experience
– Lead 4 trips and get your dues reimbursed!
– Lead 3 trips and apply to be an officer!
– If you get your Wilderness First Aid Certification (WFA) and then lead 6 trips, we will retroactively reimburse you for your certification.
– Get off wait lists and go where you want to go with cool people
No, you don’t have to be Bear Grylls to lead a trip. You don’t even need your own car. You just need a bit of organization and initiative. Topics covered will be:
– How club reimbursement policy works
– What trips are “Outdoorsy”
– Special rules on kayaking, rock climbing, and caving trips
– Using (and abusing) the club website
– Benefits of trip leading
– Recommended destinations (including “trips you can lead without a car”)
**All attendees will be activated as trip leaders on the website**
