Turk Mountain Trailhead, Waynesboro, VA, USA
Join me and Alexis on a hike THIS WEDNESDAY to Turk Mountain in Shenandoah! If you’ve never been to UVA’s closest national park, this is a great chance to join a beginner (no hiking experience required!) trip and get a feel for the park! Here’s the AllTrails link: https://www.alltrails.com/trail/us/virginia/turk-mountain-trail
Turk Mountain is a short hike on the south end of Shenandoah with a few spots to get some GORGEOUS VIEWS and some ROCK SCRAMBLING. It’s 2.4 miles round trip with about 700 feet of elevation gain, which makes it a super fun beginner hike! I have a National Parks Pass, and we can fit three besides me and Alexis in the car.
Here’s the plan:
4:00pm meet outside Echols
5:00pm get to the trailhead and hike!
7:00pm return to trailhead
8:00pm back to grounds
*This includes a lot of buffer time and we will likely be back earlier!
What to bring/wear:
– sturdy shoes appropriate for hiking
– plenty of water
– snack(s) if you want!
– layers (weather dependent)
We can’t wait to see y’all out there!!
