Echols Dorm: Brick Wall By Side Door
Blackrock Summit
Soon it will be dark very early, so I’m leading this lil sunset shindig in an attempt to savor every last bit of post-6PM sunshine. Charlie and I will have our pupper in tow, so if midterms szn has got ya down and you’re in need of some dog therapy this trip is probably up your alley!
~the hike~
Blackrock is a short and sweet ~1 mile out and back hike with minimal elevation gain but gorgeous views. There’s a super fun pile of boulders at the end that’s relatively easy to scramble up and plop down for perfect views of the sunset!
Logistics:
4:15 meet at Echols
4:20 get on the road
5:35ish arrive at trailhead
6:00 get to the summit
6:12 dat sunset!!!
6:35 get back on the road to Cville
7:50 back on grounds (or at Cookout maybe?????)
You bring:
$5 and money if you would want to stop for cookout after
Headlamp/source of light

Sturdy shoes that you can get scrambly in
