OVERVIEW

It’s been two long months since I’ve ridden in the backcountry but I’m finally feeling good enough on the bike to get back out there. The last time we were in Stokesville the weather conditions were a little less than ideal (as you can see in the trip picture). While it might get a bit muddy, I sure hope I can promise you there won’t be any snow this time. Also, as the title suggests, we’ll indulge in some shuttle action for this ride. That road climb has put my body through enough for one semester.

The plan’s to shuttle to the top of Reddish Knob and ride over to Wild Oak. We’ll then descend Chestnut Ridge and ride the gravel road to Timber Ridge which we’ll climb. We won’t climb the whole trail as we’ll hook a right onto Wolf Ridge and start our final descent. So even though we’re shuttling, the ride should be roughly 25 mi and 3500′. While the distance and elevation aren’t too crazy, Stokesville isn’t easy riding. As St. Clair likes to put it, “you’ll get the pleasure of ripping it all back downhill on a chunky, engaging trail featuring larger step-downs, tight berms, and lots of cool features”. As always, if you’re on the fence or want more info, contact either of us by clicking our profiles.
