Be ready for a weekend of exploring caves and possibly some day hiking. Pre-registration deadline requires a postmark by Sept. 2nd. If you have not already paid me $17, please register yourself for the convention.
I have never caved in that area I will not be leading any expeditions there, but I have heard of quite a bunch of these caves and they are all awesome.
We will tentatively leave at 5pm Friday and come back sometime Sunday night. We will stay at a campsite provided by the Covington VA Moose Lodge. There is food available for purchase nearby so bring some extra money. If a lot of people sign up, we will have to split up and follow different programs at the convention.
Equipment: kneepads and elbowpads, lots of spare clothes that you don’t mind getting ridiculously muddy and wet (several caves require you to wade through water to enter them), helmet with light, a waterproof sack to carry items into the cave with you (helpful!).
Requirements: Please do not be scared of enclosed spaces, bats, or the dark.
